      Welcome to CABC

The voice of business between Canada and the Arab world!

        What is CABC?

The CABC was founded by a small group of farsighted people who, as early as 1983, saw the enormous business potential between Canada and the Arab world. Today, the CABC board and executive consists of senior level business professionals representing a range of sectors and expertise in Canada and in Arab states.

It also includes top rate lawyers and business people who have lived and worked in the region for many years as well as Canadians of Arab descent who have extensive business in both Canadian and Arab markets. Select former Canadian Ambassadors to the region as well as representatives of provincial and federal governments also bring their expertise to board deliberations.

        What is CABC?

The Canada Arab Business Council is Canada’s only not-for-profit association focused exclusively on promoting trade and investment between Canada and the Arab world.

Since 1983, the Council has been the principal advocate for, and the driving force behind, Canada’s growing economic relations with Arab countries in the Middle East and North Africa region. We also work with Arab governments to promote economic relations with Canada.

        Message from the Chair

First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the members of the board of directors for electing me for this most notable position. The responsibilities entrusted to me are not taken lightly, and I look forward to providing as much value to all stakeholders of the organization as I possibly can. I am ecstatic to be working alongside our newly elected Vice Chair Ruba El-Sayeghas well as Immediate Past Chair Scott Joliffe, who, I might add, left quite large shoes to fill.

As we enter the fall in Canada, there is a renewed feeling of optimism as the world finds itself in a much more positive position, with the worst waves of covid hopefully behind us. Restrictions are being lifted, international travel is becoming easier, and people are anxious to get back on the road to recovery.

Over the coming weeks and months, CABC will be hosting country and sector webinars and various other events virtually and in person. Inbound and outbound missions are planned to further enhance and deepen relations between Canada and the Arab world.

CABC is working on expanding our membership and bringing added value by connecting Canadian companies and experts with abundant opportunities in the MENA region. As always, your suggestions and input are welcome to help our organization grow.

With the hope of strengthening and building relations between Canada and the Arab World, CABC will reflect on its past while simultaneously appreciating its present and preparing for the future.
