        Message from President

As we enter springtime in Canada, there is a renewed feeling of optimism as the world finds itself in a much more positive position, with the worst waves of covid hopefully behind us. Restrictions are being lifted, international travel is becoming easier, and people are anxious to get back on the road to recovery.

Our thoughts are with the people in Ukraine. We are keeping the country close to our hearts and hope the unwarranted invasion will come to a peaceful end very soon.

Over the coming weeks and months, CABC will be hosting country and sector webinars, and various other events virtually and in person. Inbound and outbound missions are planned which will further enhance and deepen relations between Canada and the Arab world.

CABC is working on expanding our membership and bringing added value, connecting Canadian companies and expertise with the abundant opportunities in the MENA region. As always, your suggestions and input are welcomed to help assist in our organizational growth.

To our Muslim friends and partners, good wishes as you prepare to enter the Ramadan season in April.

With the hope of continuing to strengthen and build relations between Canada and the Arab World, CABC will reflect on its past while simultaneously appreciating its present and preparing for the future.

These have been a busy few months for the Canada Arab Business Council (CABC). We have accomplished many significant milestones including:

        • Led a high level Trade & Investment Mission to Dubai March 16-19 and hosted a sold out, one day Business Forum with 250 guests in attendance. Opening the Forum was The Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development and Minister Al Marri, UAE Minister of the Economy. This was CABC’s first time hosting a Forum in the MENA region.
        • Met with dignitaries at country pavilions at Expo 2020
        • Enjoyed the celebrations of Canada Day at Expo where Her Right Honourable, Mary Simon, Canada’s Governor General opened the event.
        • Signed an MOU with the Clean Energy Business Council (MENA) region accomplishing new initiatives and expanding the clean energy agenda.
        • Signed an MOU with the Canada Egypt Business Council to further build relations bilaterally between Canada and Egypt.
